Our Mission is built on the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion, Cybersecurity DIVAS (Women who are DRIVEN, INSPIRATIONAL, and VISIONARY who have taken ACTION in SECURITY) are devoted to helping other women succeed in Cybersecurity by mentoring and guiding them. Additionally, we will provide funding for training and certification and job placement support. The goal is to develop the next generation of rainmakers and thought leaders in Cybersecurity.

Lyndrel Downs is an African American female, single mother of
three, and the Founder of Cybersecurity DIVAS. As the only
woman in most of her classes, her journey was filled with
discouragement from professors and a lack of support from
fellow students. Then a mentor came into her life and helped
her believe in herself which empowered her to overcome those
obstacles.

Angelique Napoleon

Angelique Napoleon is a Cybersecurity DIVA, and she is making a difference in the world; she is a role model for what it means to be a Cybersecurity DIVA. She is a Veteran, a Cybersecurity SME at General Dynamics Information Technology, and a mentor and a trainer.

Gina Frierson

Gina Frierson is a fourth-year college student majoring in Chemical Engineering. During her time in this program, Gina has struggled to fit in with her friends and receive the help she needs from her professors. Part of the problem is that there aren’t many students with her background, which could seem like a barrier to furthering her career prospects compared to her peers.

Carmen Morales

Carmen Morales is a single mother who also happens to be a self-proclaimed geek at heart. She has volunteered to gain more knowledge in cybersecurity but has been unable to break through the door. After becoming a Jr DIVA and working with a Cybersecurity DIVAS mentor, she is on her way to landing her first real job in the cybersecurity field

We Need Your Help with a tax deductible donation

Help the DIVAS reach our goal of $1,500,000 by the end of July 15, 2022. Funds will help find quality mentors and job placement assistance and will allow every Junior DIVA to receive up to $6,500 for the cost of training and certifications.

 

The gender and racial disparity in cybersecurity are ENORMOUS; women make up about 14% of the workforce, while minority women make up about 1%.
