Chief Information Security Officer

Michelle Valdez joined OneMain Financial as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) in January 2020. She has over 15 years of cybersecurity and over 22 years of risk management experience in the US Air Force, US Government, and industry. Prior to joining OneMain Financial, she was a Senior Director at Capital One for almost 5 years where she built their Cyber Resilience capabilities and lead the development and enhancement of many enterprise-wide technology and security programs. Prior to Capital One, she held several different positions supporting the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security along with executive leaders across all the critical infrastructure sectors for more than 13 years. She developed national public and private sector cybersecurity policy and cyber resilience programs.
